.mail (Dot Mail) Domain TLD

25 years after the registration of the first .com domain, we now have several dozens of different generic TLDs and country code TLDs (inlcuding some niche TLDs and poor used TLDs like .aero, .coop, .int, .museum, .pro, etc.) and many other TLDs should be soon approved, including many company names TLDs (like .hp, .canon, .sony, etc.) other generic TLDs (like .xxx, .jobs, .travel, .music, etc.) and also some internationalized ccTLDs.

But, incredibly, the most important and useful TLD we can imagine, a TLD devoted to the PRINCE of the internet services (the eMail) has NEVER been (and still isn't) available nor approved nor proposed, and this is the .mail top-level domain!

Well, clearly, a .mail TLD is a great idea, so, the goal of this site is to suggest and promote (also with the support and help of domains registrars, domainers, blogs, forums, etc.) the approval and implementation (as quickly as possible) of the .mail TLD since it might have many advantages for us all.

I also believe, that, the main supporters of this idea (and of this site) should be the most important (present and future) international eMail services providers like Yahoo, Microsoft or (soon) Facebook, that, with a .mail TLD, might register and own some very simple, easy and short .mail domains like Y.mail, Hot.mail, FB.mail.

.Love (DOT LOVE) Domain TLD

Love is an emotion and an idea that rests at the pinnacle of humanity. Love (e.g., romantic, compassionate, spiritual, caring) encapsulates much that is good about human nature and global society. The Internet is a powerful tool that can be used to promote love generally and caring for others specifically.

dot.Love Inc intend to apply to ICANN* to serve as the dot-love (.love) registry to distribute .love as an Internet domain name.

.love holds the potential to generate substantial revenue through the sale of domain names to specific markets. Dot.Love Inc would use this revenue to provide – in a professional manner – philanthropic donations to non-profit organizations all over the world that care for others.

But there is also very real symbolic value in securing .love for a non-profit purpose

The Internet also exists as an achievement at the pinnacle of humanity. To distribute .love as a purely commercial Internet exercise is an uninspiring statement on the human condition. dot.Love Inc offers an alternative to this possibility, as love is too precious to global society to be sold with such indifference...

Utilising .love and the Internet as a strategy to care for others presents many challenges. We very much need the support of others to achieve this goal.

dot.Love Inc is a group of Internet, legal and managerial volunteers that seek to enable love at a collective level. We are a bridge between the virtual world and the real world to promote love globally and locally.

Dot.love Inc. is not associated with the commercial sex industry and never will be. Thank you for supporting the dot.Love mission.

.hotel (Dot HOTEL) Domain TLD

The International Hotel & Restaurant Association (IH&RA) has announced its support for dotHOTEL, the company which will register .hotel as a new top-level domain for the global hotel industry with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Hotels and the hotel industry worldwide will then be able to register their brands in an unambiguous and trusted namespace, such as husa.hotel or hyatt.hotel.

“After reviewing the concepts concerning dotHOTEL’s .hotel Top-Level Domain application proposal, I have the pleasure of informing you that the International Hotel & Restaurant Association fully supports this initiative,” said Dr. Ghassan Aidi, IH&RA President, at the IH&RA Board meeting in Barcelona. “We are convinced that the creation of a .hotel namespace will be a significant step foward for our industry.”

The mission of dotHOTEL, which is based in Berlin, Germany, is to establish the .hotel top-level domain for the benefit of the global hotel business on the Internet, with the approval of ICANN. The founders of dotHOTEL have backgrounds in the internet as well as in the hotel industry and are active members of the ICANN community. dotHOTEL is dedicated to develop services and products to enhance the efficiency and convenience of marketing and e-commerce for hotels, their organizations and associated businesses worldwide. The major of aim of dotHOTEL is the creation of a namespace of security, trust and credibility for the global hotel business, its providers, suppliers and its customers.

Today there are more than a million domains containing the term ‘hotel’, like www.designhotel.com or www.plazahotel.de. At the same time there is a continued demand for hotel related domains. A .hotel top-level domain will make hotels more intuitively accessible and will give consumers greater confidence by added security features such as registrar verification and DNSSEC. It also provides the global hotel business with a voice and improved visibility on the Internet. Doing business for suppliers and providers will become easier and more reliable.

These are goals which are fully in alignment with the International Hotel & Restaurant Association’s tasks for the global hotel industry. Many hotels, even large ones, could not register their desired domain in the past. Constructions such as hotelname-city-hotel.com are common and constitute an obstacle for efficient online marketing. The situation in many of the crowded namespaces such as .com or .de is even worse for newcomers. Consequently, second rate domain names lead to worse search engine rankings and increase the dependence on the large booking sites, which in turn puts pressure on the margins hotels can generate in their business. There is also a risk to become the victim of fraudulent mediators who may be geographically remote and whose qualifications and capabilities have not been verified by any independent party.

“A .hotel top-level domain will make hotels more intuitively accessible and will give consumers greater confidence,” said Johannes Lenz-Hawliczek, who is one of the founders of dotHOTEL, in Barcelona. “We are happy to cooperate with the IH&RA in creating a place where the hotel industry has its home.”

.Music (Dot Music) Domain TLD

What is .MUSIC?
.MUSIC (dotMusic) is a specialized domain name for the global music community and industry. It is a music "badge" and recognizable web identity that gives music websites distinct advantages over traditional or generic domain name addresses.

A .MUSIC address will look like this in your web browser:

http://www.YourName.MUSIC

.MUSIC is:

•Unique
•Memorable
•Short
•Self-explanatory
•Recognizable
•Trusted
•Brand-enhancing
•Consistent
•Practical

Why does the Music Community need .MUSIC domain name?

Today's best practice for selecting an optimized domain name is ensuring that the domain name is highly-relevant, short and memorable. The less characters to convey what you represent the more effective the branding and marketability.

Finding a desired domain name has become increasingly difficult for artists, industry professionals and music companies because nearly all single-word domain names and close misspellings are already registered.

Established artists and bands such as the Eagles, the Police, the Doors, Kiss, Queen, Muse, Prince, Tool, Pink, Muse, ABBA, The Carpenters, Van Halen, Bruce Springsteen, Genesis, Scorpions, Journey, Chicago, Glay, Nirvana, Oasis, REM, Roxette, even Justin Bieber do not have their exact names in .COM. Since most bands use generic keywords for their artist brand names, the availability of those domain names are limited and buying them from their current domain owners will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, even millions depending on the popularity of the generic keyword and its type-in traffic.

To add to the confusion, artists whose exact brand name match is not available in .COM, do not choose universally-consistent keywords to help fans remember what their official websites are. For example, the Justin Bieber official website is JustinBieberMusic.com, the official Queen site is QueenOnline.com, the official Eagles site is EaglesBand.com and the official Muse site is Muse.mu.

The .MUSIC Top-Level Domain will remove second-guessing and enable direct navigation to the artist's official website by simply typing in the artist's brand name and then followed by .MUSIC into the web browser. For example: JustinBieber.music, Queen.music, KISS.music and Muse.music. The .MUSIC domain will replace the ineffective and risky domain name structure that exists today in music. Under the .MUSIC trusted umbrella, the new paradigm of navigating music websites is consistent, fast, simple and authenticated.

How do Music Consumers & Music Community benefit from .MUSIC?

Today's Internet domain space does not offer trust or credibility to consumers for determining if the music website visited is official and legitimate. Unfortunately, 95% of all digital music is pirated according to IFPI. Piracy and monies flowing to unlicensed music site owners hurts music artists. Unlicensed music websites are also risky to visit because of their high probability of infecting Internet users' computers with malware, spyware and viruses.

The objective of the .MUSIC domain is to offer artists, industry professionals and music companies a safe haven and trusted Internet zone that Internet users can identify as authenticated, verified, credible, organized and consistent. This ensures that monies will flow directly to the artists and the music community, not to pirates or illegitimate website owners. This added level of authenticity will also increase customer trust, awareness and loyalty towards the brand name the .MUSIC domain is associated with.

The .MUSIC domain will be to the music community as the .EDU domain is to the educational community: Safe, trusted, recognized, credible, consistent, self-explanatory, and organized. Music fans no longer have rely on search engines for their music search. They can simply input the .MUSIC website address URL of their choice directly into their web browser. Key advantages and benefits for music fans and Internet users will be increased speed, reliability and simplicity. Artists and music entities also benefit by receiving increased traffic and higher conversions in regards to lead generation and music sales.

How does .MUSIC get Official Websites more traffic through SEO?

Search engine optimization (SEO) experts always highlight the significance of having your brand name in the web address URL as well as your primary keyword that describes what you do or sell. The .MUSIC domain simultaneously integrates both techniques, without increasing the length of the website domain by adding unnecessary characters. This ensures music entities are easily recognized with the shortest and most memorable domain.

This way, search engines such as Google or Bing will be able to recognize the relationship between both the brand and the specific primary .MUSIC keyword extension. As a result of the strong association, high relevancy and the link popularity (credibility) of the .MUSIC domain, search engines will favorably rank the official website higher in the search results. Top search engine results translate into increased traffic, high conversions and more sales or leads.
